Effipro Spray is used for the prevention of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.), tick (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus), and biting lice infestations in dogs (Trichodectes canis) and cats (Felicola subrostratus).

In a multi-pet household, all dogs and cats should be treated with EFFIPRO^®. Fleas from pets often infest the animal‘s basket, bedding and regular resting areas such as carpets and soft furnishings. In the case of a massive flea infestation, these areas should be treated as well with a suitable insecticide and vacuumed regularly.

EFFIPRO^® Spray is used every 4 weeks against tick infestation in both dogs and cats. The minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks. Puppies and kittens from 2 days of age may be safely treated. The product has a persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 4 weeks against ticks, depending on the level of environmental challenge.

EFFIPRO^® Spray will be preferably applied every 4 to 8 weeks to treat a flea infestation. Product persistence is shorter in cats because of their grooming behavior. For optimal control of flea infestation the treatment schedule will be adapted to the local epidemiological situation.

The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis. Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations with adult fleas persists for up to 6 weeks in cats and up to 3 months in dogs, depending on the environmental challenge.

When the product is used as part of the treatment of Flea Allergy Dermatitis, monthly applications to the allergic patient and to other cats and dogs in the household are recommended.
